Offshore Engineering Design

Offshore Engineering Design , Fabrication, Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning Training Course

Training Course Objectives:

By the end of this Offshore Engineering Design , Fabrication, Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning training course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the Complete Offshore Project Lifecycle
-Gain a structured overview of all project phases: engineering design, fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up, and commissioning (DFIHC).
-Understand how each stage interrelates and impacts cost, schedule, safety, and quality.
  • Apply Offshore Engineering Design Principles
-Learn the fundamentals of topside and subsea design, structural analysis, pipeline/riser design, and safety system integration.
-Understand design codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV, ISO) for offshore platforms and subsea systems.
  • Plan and Manage Offshore Fabrication and Module Construction
-Gain insight into fabrication yard operations, welding, NDT, module assembly, and quality assurance procedures.
-Understand material selection, logistics, dimensional control, and interfaces with design.
  • Oversee Offshore Transportation and Installation (T&I)
-Learn marine operations principles including load-out, seafastening, transportation, lifting, and offshore installation techniques.
-Explore installation methodologies for jackets, topsides, pipelines, and subsea components.
  • Execute Hook-up and Mechanical Completion Activities
-Understand procedures for offshore hook-up including utility tie-ins, E&I cable pulling, piping connections, and leak testing.
-Coordinate mechanical completion, punch listing, and pre-commissioning.
  • Conduct Commissioning and Start-up Operations
-Learn step-by-step processes for commissioning utilities, processing systems, safety systems, and control equipment.
-Ensure readiness for start-up and handover to operations.
  • Ensure Compliance with Offshore Safety, Quality, and Environmental Standards
-Apply industry regulations and HSE best practices throughout the DFIHC phases.
-Manage construction and installation risks in challenging marine environments.
  • Coordinate Effectively with Stakeholders and Project Teams
-Align engineering, construction, marine, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams to meet project milestones.
-Understand documentation, communication, and change management during offshore execution.
  • Use Project Management Tools and Track Key Deliverables
-Monitor schedules, progress, procurement, resource allocation, and cost controls during all project phases.
-Apply project control systems to manage offshore construction risks and interfaces.
