Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) Training Course

Training Course Objectives:

By the end of this Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) training course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) as outlined in the ISPS Code.
Interpret and implement the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Conduct port facility security assessments (PFSA) to identify vulnerabilities and threats.
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) in line with national and international regulations.
Coordinate security measures with ships, port authorities, and government agencies to ensure compliance and operational security.
Implement access control procedures, monitoring systems, and restricted area management.
Respond effectively to security incidents and breaches, including drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
Manage security personnel and ensure proper training and awareness within the port facility.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and inspections by relevant authorities.
Ensure the port facility is prepared for security levels 1, 2, and 3 as defined under the ISPS Code.
Recognize and address potential threats, including terrorism, piracy, smuggling, and cyber threats to port facilities.
Foster a security-conscious culture across all port facility operations and stakeholders.
